Dec 15, 2017 · I have Outlook 2016 also, Loren, and have the same problem you do. I have a lifetime subscription to VPN Unlimited, and had that problem. So, I "dumped" it and got a lifetime subscription to Windscribe. Same thing happened with Windscribe too, so it's obviously a failing with Outlook, but so far, I haven't seen a solution to the problem itself. With Gmail, if I have the VPN active I get warnings from Google that someone appears to signing into my account from a different location than normal. This is to protect your email account from hackers. You need to check with your email provider to see if they have any settings or work around for using a VPN with your email. Note that direct access to email over an unsecure connection will no longer be available for remote users after October 3, 2017. You will need to logon first to the VPN with VIP 2-factor authentication before you can access email remotely.
